The final total is in. Audiences at We Will Rock You gave £4,575, shared between MusicSpace and Gympanzees—two Bristol charities working with disabled children and adults across the region, through music therapy and through play.

MusicSpace
MusicSpace has provided specialist music therapy across Bristol and the South West since 1991. Its qualified therapists work with children, young people, adults and older people, in community settings, schools, hospitals, care homes and outreach locations.
The approach is person-centred: music used as a therapeutic tool to support emotional wellbeing, communication, self-expression and social connection, and to help people overcome barriers related to disability, trauma, mental health difficulties, social isolation and communication needs. The charity measures its impact in improved wellbeing, greater confidence and resilience, stronger relationships and fuller participation in community life.
It is now one of the largest providers of music therapy in the South West, supporting around 400 people every week through its centre and its outreach services.
Gympanzees
Gympanzees supports disabled children and their families through fitness, fun and friendship.
The charity is building the UK’s first fully inclusive leisure facility for disabled children and young people, at the old Aust services beside the Old Severn Bridge. It opens in spring 2027 and expects around 200,000 visitors in its first year, across ten rooms including a fully adapted gym, sensory rooms, a climbing wall and an outdoor playground.
There are around 90,000 disabled children living within an hour of Bristol. For their families, regular exercise, somewhere to enjoy a day out together and the chance to meet other families are all far harder to come by than they should be.
Our collection went to the charity’s Project Home Appeal, which is funding the building.
