In November 1968 the Bristol Light Opera Club staged Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus (The Bat), “An Operetta in Three Acts” with new book and lyrics by Phil Park, at the Bristol Hippodrome from Monday 18th to Saturday 23rd November. Sally Noble produced and Robert Latham was musical director and conductor, with Judith Bright and Roderick Young as Rosalinda and Gabriel Eisenstein. The furniture was “provided by Bristol Old Vic Company”, members of Weston-super-Mare Operatic Society were thanked for understudying, and Tuesday was “Civic Night”, welcoming the Lord Mayor and the Sheriff. The programme closed by announcing Robert and Elizabeth for October 1969.
