The UK amateur première, staged as part of the show’s Let the People Sing! 40th anniversary.
Paroled convict Jean Valjean breaks his parole, remakes himself, and spends the rest of his life pursued by Inspector Javert — through Fantine’s fall, Cosette’s rescue, and the barricades of the June Rebellion of 1832.
Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, from the original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
