Description
Gavroche is Thénardier’s son but this is never revealed. He is left to fend for himself and lives by his wits in the streets of Paris. Gavroche is brave, witty, and confident. Although he may be quite diminutive in stature, he has an enormous, heart-warming personality. He is well liked by the students and he greatly admires Enjolras, the leader of the revolution, and tries to be like him. He leads a gang. They are not a criminal group but a bunch of waifs and strays who rely on him for their survival. He is very moved by the death of Éponine, who is his sister. Gavroche himself has a very dramatic and very moving death at the barricade. He sings solo.
