From Tuesday 9th to Saturday 13th December 1986 the Bristol Light Opera Club presented Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, based on Ferenc Molnar’s “Liliom”, at the Bristol Hippodrome. Writing in “the 53rd year of ‘the Light'”, chairman Alan Seager welcomed Vicki Klein as director and choreographer and Robert Ladkin as musical director, noting that “Bob” Ladkin “is the father of Chris who plays Billy Bigelow”. The company, corps de ballet, young company members and “Snow” family children filled a long programme list, and the credits name a “Jackson Galloper” and “Juvenile Carousel” from Lincolnshire Amusement Caterers Limited. Michael Parks led the orchestra, and the production was “entered for the Evening Post Rose Bowl Award”.
