A celebration of 100 years of the Bristol Hippodrome, devised with BBC Radio Bristol from the memories of hundreds of listeners and staged as a BLOC and BMYP co-production.
The show runs from Oswald Stoll commissioning Frank Matcham in 1911, through twice-nightly variety, the Blitz, the 1948 backstage fire and the 1970s campaign that saved the theatre, to the premieres — Hair, Guys & Dolls, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables.
On the bill: Wilson, Keppel & Betty, Gracie Fields, George Formby, Old Mother Riley — and a young Archibald Leach, better known as Cary Grant.
