A musical extravaganza staged at the Bristol Beacon for BLOC’s 80th anniversary, tracing the history of musical theatre alongside the club’s own — from the Gilbert & Sullivan and operetta of the 1930s, through the golden-age American musicals, to rock opera and the modern West End.
Numbers ranged from The Pirates of Penzance and The Merry Widow to Evita, Wicked, Miss Saigon and Mamma Mia!, closing on White Christmas — a trailer for the show BLOC would take to the Hippodrome later that year.
