“For the 21st Birthday Production” the Bristol Light Opera Club presented “the West of England amateur premiere” of The Dubarry, “a musical comedy romance” with music after Carl Millöcker, at the Victoria Rooms, Clifton, from Monday 8th to Saturday 13th November 1954. The programme thanks the Bristol Education Department for its co-operation, and John Corbett, “who did so much spade work for the production” but was abroad for the run. The hats for Maison Labille were “created by Lucille (Zetland Road, Bristol) specially for this production”, dancing was arranged by Dorothy Woods of the Bristol Ballet Club, and the anniversary was marked with a 21st Birthday Celebration Dinner-Dance at the Royal Hotel.
